The Mount Vernon Weekday School Board
Mrs. Sandra Rohrstaff......
Sandra is chair of the Weekday School Committee at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church and a former Director of the Weekday School.
She is a mother, a teacher and a lawyer. In her “lawyer” life, she represents people – including children – who have been injured. In her “teacher” life, she taught young children and has continued involvement with children and child safety issues since becoming a lawyer.
She loves listening to children – they have such fresh ideas about the world and how it works. She also loves reading to them – you may see her around the Weekday School reading to a class from time to time. (Obviously, this is not a picture of Sandra; it’s her brother, John, reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar to his first grandchild. She just likes this picture and asked me to put it in my introduction.)
Sandra has put her lawyer/educator lives together in her new child injury blog -- http://VirginiaChildInjuryLawyer.com. She wants to provide information that will be helpful to parents of children of all ages. Her blog has notices about recalls of dangerous products, information about preventing injuries and lists of resources parents might need. She has invited our parents to let her know what would be helpful to them so she can include it in her blog.
